After the Rain …

The Vibrant but Subtle Detail of this Beautiful Leaf (Cotinus coggygria ‘Grace’) is Even More Striking when Sprinkled with Water Droplets on a Rainy Day

Ah, soft, sweet showers! At last, gentle grey clouds have delivered a long, cool drink of refreshing rain! I can almost hear my drought-parched garden singing a joyful song. And with silvery raindrops sparkling on trees, shrubs and vines, it’s a wonderfully romantic time for a stroll along the misty garden path, beneath a wide umbrella. Won’t you join me for a spell?

Hi Michaela, So glad you’ve gottten started on some lovely August rain. We’re also back on track again here. I still can’t believe how quickly things bounced back after 7 weeks with virtually no precip. With this heat/rain combo we are surrounded by a lush(rush) growth of verdant green.

Thank you for sharing your rainy stroll. (I can’t help but be just a little green myself over the variety of your gardens’ citizens and it’s wonderful bedrock bones; ) xo D

@ Deb – Yes, and what a difference 24 hours of moisture makes. The whole garden is now exploding in a new wave of bloom!
;) The rocks, the rocks. They are my greatest joy, and sometimes —yes— my greatest challenge! Lovely to hear from you, as always! xo M
