A Little Romance on a Winter’s Night…

Though the holidays have come and gone, snow-dusted landscapes continue to enchant. Twinkling, candlelit stairs, luminous paths and glowing, snow-capped tabletops greet the frosty evening. Meanwhile inside, a toasty fire crackles, and the scent of red wine & mulling spices warms the air.

Hi Michaela, Looks like you got the same weather as we did. Shovelling was actually a joy after this storm passed… Six inches of powder under a crisp blue sky. My heart hurt – it was just so beautiful out there!
Thank you for sharing the beauty of your twilight garden tonight. A glass of Gluhwein by the fire sounds like just the perfect way to end the day. Do you mind if I join you? Cheers! xo D.

I still have time to go buy candles tomorrow! The weatherman says we are getting 4 to 6 inches of snow tomorrow night and may even get 8! Around here that means snowed in for the day. Very unusual weather we’re having this year, but if the candles can cheer it up then I’m not minding it so much. Thanks for the idea and the lovely pictures.

I’ve been lighting three sets of candles in candelabra plus one almost every night at dinner since solstice but now I’ll have to have another candelabra outside the window on the deck, too. Well, maybe. Thanks for the pictures.

Thank you everyone! It does warm up the night to light a few candles, doesn’t it? And it makes a great excuse to spend some time outside just when the stars make their early appearance.

It sounds like many states are having unusual weather this year. As for those of us in New England, it looks like we have another storm brewing on the horizon for tomorrow night! Time to pull the sleds out ;) xo M
