Celebrating The Gardener’s Eden’s Second Anniversary and Giving Thanks To All of You for Following Along…

Crocus blooming in my garden

Has it really been two years? I posted my first entry on The Gardener’s Eden two years ago, April 23rd, and since that time I’ve fallen in love with the incredibly supportive and enthusiastic community of gardeners and cooks I’ve met through this journal. You are wonderful, and I am so grateful that you visit, comment —both here and on this site’s Facebook or Twitter pages— and send such wonderful email correspondence. This blog is a labor of love, and guess what? You are the love!

Many of you have written to tell me how much you enjoy and appreciate this website. Thank you so much. But, I think it’s only fair that I let you know how much all of you mean to me! Were it not for you, I probably wouldn’t push myself to write on a regular basis. And now, because of this blog, I have begun writing gardening articles on a professional level. I’ve also developed some new skills. Shortly before posting my first entry on The Gardener’s Eden, I bought and started learning how to use a camera. Thanks to your enthusiastic comments and encouragement, I’ve started taking my photography more seriously, and my images have now been published, both online and in print. Later this year, I plan to reward myself by upgrading to a more professional camera, the Canon 5D. Committing to this blog —and more importantly, to all of you— has helped me to grow and discover new and exciting passions and opportunities. I love keeping this online journal, and I hope to continue sharing the joys of horticulture here for a very long time.

In celebration of The Gardener’s Eden’s second anniversary, I will be giving away a few garden-related items, as my way of saying thanks. The first of these giveaways was announced in my last post, and I’ll be revealing the winner here tomorrow. I have a few more tricks up my sleeve yet, so stay tuned for some garden gifts and surprises!

Here’s to You! Thanks for Following The Gardener’s Eden!

Gardening, Cooking, Photojournalism – you seem to do all so well – please do continue what you’ve started and keep on growing. I share your passions, and dabble where you shine, but your inspiration makes me want to achieve more.

Best to you and thank YOU for what you do to inspire and share your knowledge and passion!

Oooee is right! Serious financial commitment. No, I don’t have it yet, but I made a deal with myself: If I took one photo every day for a year, I would get the camera. Well, it turns out I take probably twenty to thirty photos a day, so I figure this is photography thing isn’t going to stop anytime soon. I’ve been saving for about a year, and I hope to get a 5D before the end of summer. We’ll see if I make it. I’m sure all of you will be the first to know ;)
Thanks for the well-wishes. xo M
