Oooh! Hidden treasure! This makes my heart quicken. I love that speckled blue-green color.
Isn’t it just the most uplifting color? It almost sings before it even hatches! ;) Happy Spring! xox
And just look at how beautifully they fit together…
Did you happen to glimpse their maker?
Hi Deb, I did briefly glimpse the nest maker. It was a tiny little brown bird, and I suspect a finch, though my bird ID is definitely not on par with my plant ID! :) Aren’t the eggs the most lovely shade of blue? xo M
You were right!
This a charming (and excellent) description of the Purple Finch’s breeding and nesting behaviours…

And I LOVE this lovely blue & brown combination – and no wonder – it’s such a classic!
Thank you for the great link, Deb. My father knows so much about birds, and I would like to learn more to share in this joy with him. I will share the information with him. He will be so surprised at my newfound knowledge! xo M
You are welcome! So glad I could help (especially with something so incredibly precious: ) xo D.
